Nexus Automotive International (N!), the major new autoparts distribution group covering Europe, the Middle East and Africa, has significantly strengthened its presence in the Italian aftermarket with the creation of Nexus Italia.
It follows agreements signed last month (July) with two business consortia, Italian Business Group (IBG) and Global Spare Group (GSG), and two major companies Pitteri & Violini and Trione Ricambi, both with headquarters in Milan.
The four parts suppliers will work together under the co-ordinating umbrella of Nexus Italia, which has a combined turnover of around 130 million euros, making it one of the most important groups within the Italian aftermarket.
Creation of the new organisation, with effect from 1 July, was made possible after GSG agreed to Nexus Italia acquiring its shares in the parent body, Nexus Automotive International. GSG was previously the sole Italian shareholder in N!.
Andrea Boni, co-ordinator for GSG becomes co-ordinator for the new group. He will be supported by Roberto Olivero, Director of IBG, Claudio Greco, General Manager for Pitteri & Violini Spa, and Emiliano Aveni, representing the ownership of Trione Ricambi Spa.
Andrea said: “The formation of Nexus Italia creates exciting new opportunities for the four companies, along with other N! shareholders and suppliers, to increase their business through implementing the commercial and network strategies of N! within the Italian aftermarket.”
As part of the agreement a representative of Nexus Italia will have a place on the board of N!.
July saw as well the launch of N! Turkey, known as Nexus Otomotive A.S., the first of a series of local Nexus organisations. Nexus Otomotive will operate on behalf of N! in Turkey, Bulgaria, N- Cyprus, Georgia, Azarbajan and Iran.
The first Bulgarian members have already signed agreements with Nexus Otomotive. They are Autogrand, ElitCar and Auto1/RMG.
N! Chief Executive Gael Escribe said: “Our growth continues at a remarkable pace. The interest expressed by potential partners and suppliers remains extremely strong and shows our strategy of innovation and creating efficiencies is meeting a real need in the marketplace.
“The launch of the two local organisations, Nexus Otomotive A.S. and Nexus Italia, are major milestones for us but our plans do not stop there. I’m delighted to reveal that discussions are well advanced for the setting up of two further local organisations in the very near future.”
